I went to the dr. and he cut all the white skin off my ulcer. Its healing but really slow.

I went to Charleston and the Dr cut all the old dead skin off again. It bled pretty good.

Today I went to BARH hospital here in Beckley, WV and they inserted a pickline in my left arm. It was kinda scary and there was a lot of blood but now I can get my IV's now

The Home health nurse came to clean my pickline and it broke in the process. Now I have to see about having another one inserted. :( He put in a heperin lock so I can still get my iv's.

They made me an appt at CAMC to have another pickline inserted. The nurse couldnt find a good enough vein to put one in. So I still have the heperin lock. :(
Today I went to the Vascular dr about putting stents in my legs.. He said I was to high risk to put the stents in. He changed my medication for cleaning out the blood veins.

I have an appt with a surgeon in Oak Hill to see about putting in a Centeral Line. Everything went well so Wednesday 8-4-04 I have to go to the hospital outpatient surgery to have the Hickman (Centeral Line) put in.

I went to Charleston to see the infectious disease dr today. Dr. Sandra Elliott is treating my infection in my foot. The was my 1st visit with her. She is soo busy that its really hard to get an appt with her. We told her about the going to put the central line in tomorrow and she was really pleased. I go back to see her 8-23-04.

I arrived at the hospital 7:00 am. They took me out at 8:00 to the operating room. Putting the hickman in was a trip. They gave me anistetic (sp) and a local as well. But when he applied pressure to go between my ribs it really hurt. It woke me up and I told him it really hurt. They gave me more stuff and I went to sleep. Thank goodness.

I went to Charleston, He cut the old skin off. I bled a lot. They had to but some kinda Nitrate on a stick on the veins that was cut. Its was awful.

Today KCI delivered the vac unit for my foot. They are putting it on my wound to help promote healing.Click on the photo for more information.
